Science Center Employment
After submitting your application, you will receive a written or electronic confirmation message indicating that it has been received, depending on how you submitted it originally. If there appears to be an appropriate match between your qualifications and our current employment needs, your application will be routed to the hiring manager. If there does not appear to be an appropriate match between your qualifications and our current employment needs, your resume will be retained for one year.
If the hiring manager for the position you applied for does see relevance between your skills and our needs, Human Resources will contact you to set up a personal interview. Upon making a decision to hire a selected interviewee, a verbal offer of employment is extended to the candidate, generally by the hiring manager via telephone. Human Resources will notify unselected candidates regarding the status of the filled position.
Who can I speak to regarding the status of my application?
Due to a large volume of incoming applications and resumes, it is the Science Center’s policy to contact potential interviewees only. Please, no phone calls.
Do I need to submit more than one resume if I'm applying for more than one job?
No. Simply send in one application and indicate for which positions you are applying. Your application will be routed to all hiring managers as deemed appropriate.
What type of pre-employment screening will I encounter?
All interviewees are asked take a short assessment questionnaire. Additionally, they are required to fill out authorizations allowing the Science Center to administer criminal background and employment verification checks. Upon deciding to offer a candidate a position, these checks will be run. Employment is contingent upon the return of the checks and their findings.
