1970 | Barbara and Duane Trythall become the youngest team of Dunhill franchisees. |
1971 | The first Dunhill office opens in Albuquerque specializing in executive search and administrative placements. |
1975 | The Trythall franchise is one of the first staffing companies in the nation to use a computerized search and retrieval system |
1976 | Barb places two employees at Bill Gates’ pre-Microsoft company in Albuquerque! |
1979 | A second Dunhill franchise is purchased. This adds their first branch in Uptown Albuquerque, a temporary staffing company. |
1983 |
Recognizing the importance of evaluating candidate skills, the company is one of the first staffing firms in the country to buy and implement state-of-the-art computerized clerical testing software. A mainframe computer is purchased for ultimate efficiency. Duane is instrumental in starting the New Mexico chapter of NATSS, National Association of Temporary Staffing Services, currently known as ASA, American Staffing Association. Duane serves four terms as president of the New Mexico chapter. Barbara also holds officer positions. |
1989 | The Trythalls buy out their Dunhill franchise contracts and create the independent company now known as Excel Staffing Companies. |
1991 | Excel adds a new division specializing in technical and environmental contract services, Excel Technical Staffing. |
1992 |
A Novell computer network is installed to run industry-specific software. A second branch office opens in Albuquerque. This one is located on the growing Westside and focuses on staffing solutions for manufacturers and those companies needing light industrial personnel services. |
1996 | After a great deal of dedication and hard work, Excel becomes ISO certified in October of 1996.
Tactical Staffing Resources (TSR) is formed to address federal national laboratories’ staff augmentation requirements. |
1999 | Duane is one of the founding members of the United Way Corporate Cornerstone. This program covers all United Way administrative expenses ensuring 100% of individual donations go directly to helping the community. This successful model is now being utilized by progressive United Way organizations nationwide.
Excel opens a third branch office and locates it in Belen. |
2001 | Grand opening of a fourth branch which is located in Santa Fe |
2006 | Excel celebrates 35 years in business.
The company receives ISO recertification. Excel implements a new web-based timekeeping system for the convenience of our employees and customers. |
2008 | WorldLink program is implemented which allows applicants to apply on-line and employees to update their profile and review their payroll history.
In an effort to provide the best possible benefits to temporary and contract employees, Excel adds an affordable limited liability health plan to our menu of options. |
2009 |
Excel Staffing Companies has reached another important quality milestone by passing our recent ISO 9000 recertification audit, which included upgrading to new ISO 9001:2008 Standards. Excel is awarded a GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract for Temporary Administrative and Professional Services (TAPS-Schedule 736), Contract No. GS-07F-0536V. |
2011 | Excel celebrates 40 years of staffing New Mexico. |
2012 | Excel Staffing Companies is named to Inavero's 2012 Best of Staffing™ Client list. Best of Staffing, presented by CareerBuilder, is the nation's only award that recognizes staffing firms that receive remarkable reviews from their clients. Excel achieved a Net Promoter Score of 84.8%, significantly higher than the industry's average of 30%. |
