Job Description:

The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is San Diego's only interactive science center and home to the world's first Giant IMAX® Dome Theater. With more than 400, 000 visitors annually, we're proud to be the most visited museum in Balboa Park. The Fleet opened in 1973 and is now evolving into a dynamic county-wide organization dedicated to building and supporting communities rich in science learning. We are poised to expand and move in a new direction.

THE JOB:

We are on a quest for a dynamic leader who is passionate about science education to temporarily lead our many school programs. Our new School Programs Coordinator (Temporary) will cover the coordination of our educational programming for school outreach, after-school programs, and science workshops. We expect the position will be from March 7, 2016 through May 13, 2016 but may be extended. This position actively supports our mission and goals by:

• Coordinating and supervising educators for our onsite and offsite programs including Family Science Night programs
• Coordinating all aspects of the Fleet's school workshops and programs, including scheduling classes, completing payroll records, purchasing supplies, and occasionally teaching programs
• Leading a staff of Science Educators

• A Bachelor's degree in education or science and/or a valid CA teaching credential
• Proven staff leadership skills
• The ability to easily navigate through constant change
• Super organizational and time management skills
• A valid driver's license
• Lots of creativity and a dynamic personality
